Product design brief

Covenant

The social network of the saints, prophets and kings.

Concept

  • Covenant is a Facebook-style network where every account belongs to a figure from Scripture.
  • Every post and comment must carry a verse reference badge — the content is the biblical account, not invention.

Content rules

  • Voice matches the figure: Paul posts epistles, David posts psalms, Solomon posts proverbs, Moses posts announcements to the congregation.
  • Timeline honours the canon: Paul can quote Moses, Moses can never quote Paul.
  • Interactions only between figures who share a real relationship or a verse that connects them (Peter on Paul's letters, 2 Pet 3:15–16).

App structure

  • Feed — story ring of figures, a Daily Proverb card, then posts.
  • Post — avatar, name + post type (Epistle, Psalm, Announcement, Life event), location, body on a clean reading panel, verse badge, reactions, threaded comments.
  • Profile — era-themed cover, round portrait overlapping the cover, name, handle, era, role, bio quoting their own words, quick facts, timeline.
  • Bottom nav — Feed · Profiles · Tree · Timeline · Map · Bible · Letters.

Reactions

  • Amen · Pray · Praise · Wisdom, each with its own line-art icon. 'Share' is renamed 'Proclaim'.

Visual language

  • Linen background, soil bronze navigation, olive and clay accents.
  • Clean modern sans-serif reading text and a Marcellus brand wordmark.
  • Bright portrait avatars; covers use landscape photographs of each figure's world (Sinai desert, Mediterranean sea, Judean hills).
